Forex Trading Laws: Master the Market Essentials

The Laws of Forex Trading
If you want to start getting involved in the Forex market, you'll need to arm yourself with a lot of tenacity and, above all, good preparation. Below are some guidelines that will be useful to keep in mind if you're entering this new online business for the first time.

Study the Subject

Forex is an abbreviation commonly used to indicate "foreign exchange". Essentially, it's a system within which it's possible to buy and sell currency in the exchange market, particularly by investors and speculators. Traders operating in the Forex market buy undervalued currencies and resell them. Since it involves an exchange of currencies, which are compared one currency to another, Forex is expressed as a currency pair. So, when we talk about the EUR/USD pair at 1.4022, we mean how much one euro (EUR) is worth expressed in dollars (USD).

Start by Opening a Demo Account

Although there are various manuals, articles, or constantly updated blogs that talk about the Forex trading market, true experience is gained in the field. For this reason, I recommend starting by opening a demo account; this way, you'll practice without risking losing money. The Forex demo account, also called a demonstration account or "practice account" in English, is a trading platform where a trader can trade commodities, currencies, stocks, indices, and all other assets offered by the broker, using all the trading tools provided by the broker, but investing virtual money. In this way, it will be possible to study the markets, test trading systems, strategies, techniques, and the best systems, in order to learn the rules of the game and approach real trading in the best way possible. Our Forex demo account serves no other purpose than to educate us, which is why I recommend it as an indispensable learning tool for the professional training of an aspiring trader.

Learn to Manage Capital by Knowing Allocation Rules

In other words, always be able to control the potential risk of each transaction, determining an exit point in case the investment doesn't go well. When operating in the Forex trading market, determine in advance the amount to invest and the amount of money to keep out of trading. Very often, this operation is facilitated by a function that some brokers provide, namely the stop loss tool. It's an automatic mechanism that allows limiting the losses of a given trade by blocking our actions in advance. By setting the stop loss, you communicate to the Forex broker to close a certain position in the Forex market if the losses on that position exceed a predetermined value. Usually, it's advisable to set an ideal limit of 2% of the total capital. Furthermore, we recommend relying on the common sense of each individual trader, not investing an amount they cannot afford to lose, never committing the entirety of their available capital on a single trading operation, so that if the operation goes wrong, there's no risk of losing everything.
