Forex Trading Education: Why It's Crucial for Success
March 3, 2017
Training plays a fundamental role in Forex trading. It's the line of demarcation between conscious, and therefore effective trading, and improvised trading, which resembles gambling and can only lead to financial disaster. The truth is simple and irrefutable: those who come unprepared to the market are bound to fail. Aspiring traders, therefore, are called upon to undertake a training path that is as in-depth as possible, long, difficult because it is self-taught (there are no Forex universities), involving both practice and theory.
Why is training so important? There are at least three reasons.
The market is complex
Just to learn the basics, it takes at least two or three months. Finance, economics, investment (speculative and non-speculative) are a reflection of complex structures, which are difficult to deal with. If you don't know the dynamics that regulate the market, you trade with a perennial sense of disorientation. This, in addition to the inevitable consequences on the effectiveness of trades, reduces abilities, compromises lucidity and therefore pushes you to make wrong choices.
Planning means winning
Only those who have studied are able to understand the importance of strategy. Above all, they are able to draw up a strategy. It is good to be wary of those who propose a "ready-made" strategy, therefore a strategy suitable for any type of trade and trader profile. Every trader, certainly inspired by those who do better than him, must draw up his own strategy, which will be consistent with the size of his capital, his risk propensity, his rhythms, etc. The more advanced stages of the training path allow the aspiring trader to develop sufficient skills to think strategically.
Emotions must be banned
This is a fundamental aspect, although often ignored. Emotion is the trader's number one enemy. Fear, distrust, even euphoria and happiness (for one or more successful traders) are very dangerous. Emotion reduces lucidity, the ability to think and react appropriately to stimuli. Here, study, or rather its fruit (the skills acquired) allow you to resist emotions, to control them. Knowledge means security, and security means being cool-headed.
Embarking on a training path is not simple. It is not easy, above all, to complete it. There is no shortage of sources (ebooks, video courses scientific texts. Often, there is a lack of a common thread, a homogeneous and organic training program. Some brokers, however, far-sighted in the attention they reserve for potential clients, organize very valid training courses.
